1. Membership
- to increase membership involvement in the financial support and activities of the organization
- to provide complete, accurate, and timely information to all members regarding the APL, its mission, goals, activities, opportunities to participate, and any other information which will encourage involvement
- to produce an accurate an timely newsletter to all members on a regular basis
- to hold and encourage attendance at membership meetings
- to have a greater personal contact with members
- to maintain an accurate and up-to-date membership roster
- to increase membership by 25% through actively seeking to bring new members into the organization
2. Fundraising - as an on-going function
- to build the General Operating Fund to a minimum acceptable level
- to successfully complete the Homeward Bound capital campaign
- to establish and develop the Endowment Fund for future operations
- to have a working plan for the ongoing expenses of the organization and to integrate a future plan for operational expenses upon the completion of Homeward Bound.
3. Organizational and Management
- to bring the operations of the APL into compliance with the bylaws
- to establish working committees within the organization
- to establish standing rules
- to annually review and revise the corporate bylaws
- to ensure proper policy and procedure for protecting the interests of the members and the organization and for meeting the legal requirements of a non-profit and a charity entity.
4. Public Relations
- to effectively use the media to gain a greater recognition of our work and our mission
- to enhance community awareness of APL throughout the service area.
- to establish informational and marketing plans to accomplish our goals.
5. Foster Care and Adopt-a-Pet
- to determine an appropriate design and operation of the program
- to develop clear policies and procedures
- to determine the effectiveness of the program
- to increase participation of foster parents throughout the area
- to determine a cost-effective plan to manage the program
