The APL is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. We have no paid staff. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in Southeast Iowa, West Central Illinois, and Northeast Missouri. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. If you truly wish to make a difference for the animals, you are welcome to join us and become involved as an APL volunteer.
Join the Animal Protection League family of volunteers and turn your desire to help animals into a real change! From hands-on direct care with foster animals to flexible fundraising projects you can do at home, you will discover how to make a positive difference in the lives of so many pets in need of our help.
If you don't see a volunteer suggestion that fits your schedule, your tastes, or you qualifications, let us know --- No matter your skills and talents, we will find a way to use it for the critters! Investing just a few hours of your time can make a huge difference, and you will also make new friends while you help the animals.
We welcome volunteer offers to hold one-time special fundraising events on behalf of the APL. You might consider organizing and holding a car wash, garage sale, bake sale, lemonade stand, raffle, aluminum can or penny drive at your work or school to benefit the APL and Homeward Bound. Create a new and innovative event! We are always open to suggestions.
Your Employer might be a good connection for APL. Corporations and businesses often give higher priority to nonprofit organizations where their own employees are involved. There are also companies and organizations that may offer gifts or goods or may be interested in partnering with the APL on certain issues and/or events. You may be the bridge we need to be considered for these opportunities.
